wood and stoneware vases made by Adonde
Javier Gutiérrez, an anthropologist by training, and Laurent Serin, an engineer and artist, are the creative duo behind the company Adónde. The simple and beautiful objects they create are fun to use, and their goal is to invite people to own the product and invent new ways to use it. Standing nearly a foot tall, their Wood and Stoneware Vase (2008) has three removable components – a stoneware cylinder, a hand-painted alder wood cone and a hand-painted alder wood cylinder – that can be arranged in a variety of configurations to fit flowers of different sizes. When two or more vases are combined, the colored components can be mixed for an even more unique piece. Available in white, pink or silver, the wooden tops are made in Spain, and the stoneware is made in France

this envelope allows its user to take a warm mug without burning hands. This design is perfect in winter or to get a warm drink during fresh evenings of summer
designers Celine Merhand and Anais Morel work under the Les M label since three years. Spotted during the St Etienne International Design Biennial, their creations were presented in Brasilia and Rio in 2009. poem cup and saucer made by Design House Stockholm
sitting with a notebook in one hand and cup of coffee in another is about as common a cafe sight as four-dollar lattes. Enter the poem cup, saucer, notebook, and pen—made for the coffee shop set and hardly a necessity, but we love the whimsical design and the retro sea-foam green hue
materials stoneware with lead-free, cadmium-free mineral glaze; hand-painted alder wood
batter-finger spatula designed by Fred & Friends
have you been caught sticking your finger into that irresistible cake batter again? Next time, don’t gross everyone out – use your Batter Finger instead. It’s a handy silicone spatula that stirs and scrapes with ease, and makes frosting a snap. It’s perfect for when you just have to try out the brownie mix. Go ahead, lick your finger
bagel measure tape Chiaki Murata
> save 10% OFF your first purchase
bagel measure tape is a Good Design Award winner. Despite a portable measure is an essential item for all craftsmen; there has been no measure that satisfies fashionable needs. Metaphys OOO is designed to be portable and fashionable by shaping it like a donut whose hole in the middle provides better grip for fingers and also functions as a strap hole
What is unique about Metaphys is that its products are not produced by a single manufacturer; with collaboration from a number of supporting businesses, Murata designs, produces, and sells his products on his own, taking a new approach in product distribution
wood whale designed by Eric Pfeiffer
if your desk looks more like the aftermath of an F5 tornado than workstations enter the wood whale, a clever pencil/letter/phone holder handcrafted in Michigan from reclaimed timbers
the wood whale holds all of your desktop belongings so they don’t stray. Pens in the spout, phone in the mouth, letters in the tail
each wood whale is hand-crafted in Michigan using reclaimed timbers. The whales are crafted with care, hand-oiled, signed, numbered and packed carefully for migration
plus salt and pepper grinder designed by Norway Says for Muuto
this salt and pepper grinder, is available in white, black, and natural beech wood, but my favorite is the playful multicolored version. The stacked components reflect their use; the widest piece indicates where you grip the grinding mechanism; the tall section shows where the pepper and salt is stored
for the Oslow design trio behind Norway Says, it’s about using a simple language to express a complex idea. Witness this in the Boo Carafe, and now in this new grinder. The composition of differently sized parts reflects the use of the mill—from the gripped element to where the contents are stored. The highest grade beech wood is stained and lacquered, and maker Muuto includes a 25-year guarantee on the grinding mechanism
